Anti-Spam Policy

Pulsar is committed to helping reduce the problems of Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE) or 'Spam'.

The Pulsar system ensures that all consumers can opt-out quickly, easily and permanently from any communication they receive.

Pulsar reserves the right to revoke any licence, without refund, where Pulsar deems the client has not followed our anti-spam policy.

Our definition of spam

  • We view any unsolicited, unexpected email as spam.
  • We believe that any communications are spam which are sent to a subscriber about a subject unrelated to that in which they specified an interest.
  • Your intended recipients have NOT given their consent to receive email via some affirmative means, such as a confirmed opt-in procedure.
Further, you are likely to be generating spam IF:
  • Your procedures for soliciting consent DO NOT include reasonable means to ensure that the person giving consent is the owner of the email address for which the consent is given.
  • You DO NOT retain evidence of the recipient's consent in a form that may be promptly produced on request, and you do not honour recipient's and Pulsar's requests to produce such evidence within 72 hours of receipt of the request.
  • You DO NOT have procedures in place that allow a recipient to revoke their consent - such as a link in the body of the email, or instructions to reply with the word "Remove" in the subject line.
  • You DO NOT honour revocations of consent within 48 hours, and if you DO NOT notify recipients that the revocation of their consent will be implemented in 48 hours;

Spam checklist

PULSAR has tried to condense the email marketing into a  checklist so you can make a quick check of your email marketing plans.

  1. If the person you are sending to has had no contact with you previously - you need to ask for permission first.
  2. If you have already had a business relationship then you can email them until they ask you to no longer send emails – BUT see 3!
  3. For 2 to apply, you must be offering SIMILAR products and services to those previously offered.
  4. Make sure that your email makes it clear who it is from.
  5. Include a valid reply address.
  6. Include an 'unsubscribe' link in your emails. (This is automatically done by PULSAR system.)
